blinkbox books, the digital books service from Tesco, has launched offering hundreds of thousands of ebooks from the world’s best authors and promising to connect book lovers with their next favourite read.

The new service can be accessed online at http://www.blinkboxbooks.com or via free apps for Android tablets and smart phones like the hudl from Tesco, plus Apple iPhones and iPads.

blinkbox books is a digital book shop from Tesco that rewards users for reading. For each book a customer purchases, they will earn Tesco Clubcard points. blinkbox music turns up the volume with multi-million pound marketing drive

DJ Fresh remixes Run DMC classic It’s Tricky for new TV ad


blinkbox music is to press play on its first ever high-profile marketing campaign. 

The multi-million pound push celebrates the service’s ability to transform mundane moments and will roll out from this week, with a TV advert and outdoor placements in city locations.

It’s the first time Tesco has invested in above the line marketing for the web and app based service which allows users to stream curated radio stations or generate their own based on what they like.

The TV ad, which premieres on 14 March shows a domestic scene transformed thanks to blinkbox music. A mum and her young son are transported from their kitchen into an over the top hip hop video, with the boy’s toy hippo springing to life and breakdancing. The soundtrack to the advert is a specially commissioned remix of Run DMC’s It’s Tricky by superstar producer DJ Fresh (Dibby Dibby Sound, Louder, Hot Right Now). Today we announce a fully integrated partnership with ITV’s The Big Reunion.

The deal includes sponsorship of the new series, produced by ITV Studios for ITV2, as well as sponsorship of the upcoming live nationwide tour and an off-air licensing agreement.

The partnership, negotiated by planning and buying agency Arena Media, includes an integrated sponsorship package across broadcast, online and mobile platforms. Idents will be produced by Karmarama and will show how using blinkbox music everyday moments can be lit up. Read full post →

Today Brits reveal how they are adapting their daily lives to squeeze in some essential TV box set time.

  • 41% watch box sets in bed
  • 33% are likely to get less sleep when hooked on a box set
  • 61% feel compelled to watch more than one episode at a time
  • Over one in five (21%) said they would rather watch a box set than have sex

blinkbox is once again giving customers the chance to sample TV series by gifting episodes from a raft of hit shows.

The service, which offers the latest release movies and TV without the need for a subscription, has reached agreement  with studios including All3Media, BBC, eOne, Twentieth Century Fox, ITV, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, Starz and Universal to run the special offer on a selection of popular titles until 2 March.

The pilot episode of ten time Emmy award-winning series Breaking Bad* and critically acclaimed BBC drama Sherlock are part of the Try TV on Us offer.

As well as drama, customers will be able laugh out loud to Zooey Deschanel’s hit comedy New Girl and hilarious hit US series How I Met Your Mother.
